I’m just finishing off a Jane Austen fan fiction book and I plan to read moondial by Helen cresswell ( recently visited belton house where it was filmed and brought a new copy of the book, also want to read the swallows and Amazons series I recently brought and sanditon by Jane Austen. I brought ten books this month , 5 whilst on holiday not including some of the guide books of places we visited. I shall have to go on a book ban for a little while and read more of the books I have ; but one can never have too many books can they? I’m also getting ready for my new bookcases that I hope to have in the new year after decorating the living/ dining room. I’ll be expanding so need more books to fill them 😘

The Jane Austen book has gone onto my "reading wish list" along with the Kate Saunders' mysteries. I"m a big fan of well written mystery series with female sleuths and hadn't heard of this series. I just finished "The Reading List" by Sara Nisha Adams yesterday. I thought it was a wonderful story of the power of books and how unique the experience of reading is to each of us. I also cried quite a bit – found it a very touching read. Interested to hear if anyone else had read it and what they thought. Today I started "The Shell Seekers." Can't believe I hadn't read Rosamunde Pilcher before. This is the third of her novels I have read, thanks to your YouTube channel and I am hooked! Thank you!!

What a wonderful book haul Miranda. I will be adding several to my wish list and Christmas list, particularly the beautiful Mrs Dalloway edition, the Jane Austen, Sally on the Rocks and Miss Dior. I haven’t managed to buy any books this month but so looking forward to rereading 84 Charing Cross Road, one of my very favourites, for next month’s Comfort Book Club. 📚🧡

What a great haul of books. I really like the look of the Literary Almanac, and I think it would be a gorgeous christmas gift for friends too. I am interested to hear that you studied Linguistics Miranda. Have you read The Adventure of English by Melyvn Bragg? It’s a fascinating read, and he also narrates the audiobook. X

Lovely video, Miranda, as always – thank you! I too got The Annotated Mrs. Dalloway. It is absolutely stunning, and I am looking forward to rereading it while perusing all the marvelous notes, photographs, illustrations, maps, and paintings. I am a big fan of Vanessa Bell's art too. There were quite a few other books you mentioned that I would love to get ahold of and some that were totally new to me (From Sarah to Syndney and Index, to name two) that I hope to find soon! xx

It is dangerous watching your book hauls. I see so many books I'd like to buy. I wonder how you'll find the John Buchan book. To me he has
    dated a lot.

Fantastic pile of new books Miranda. The Index history and Miss Dior books sound amazing. I love bio and memoir, so I'll have to put the latter on my growing list of bios to look out for in my bookish future. Have a great reading month ahead. 😊

Yet another excellent list! Thank you for sharing. Aside from my own reading, there are some lovely gift ideas here, The Literary Almanac, and The Light Rains. It's great that the British Library List is expanding. Aside from the titles you have already suggested, I have found a vintage nature volume, 'Nature Abounding' by EL Grant Watson, an anthology divided by earth, water, fire and air. As a West Londoner like yourself, I was interested to pick up Persephone's Long Live Great Barfield by Tirzah Garwood, widow of Hammersmith artist Eric Ravillious. Very much looking forward to the sanctuary of autumn reading this year.
