I’ll be the first to say it! I never got into Paranormal/Fantasy romance books so this video was definitely a challenging one to “force” myself into reading these …

Awesome reviews. I have a great recommendation in proceeding with your paranormal genre hunt. As like you, I felt very dubious in tackling this class but a good book friend suggested this series and I was immediately intrigued. I couldn’t get enough of it. I believe you will become hooked as well. Try it out😉. The author is phenomenal. This story is a fast action-paced thrilling ride. You will fall hard for Daemon❤️. It’s the Lux series from Jennifer L. Armentrout . Start with Obsidian. Hope you try it. Look forward to assessment.

I recommend the Immortals After Dark series if you want a quick, fun, and ott paranormal series. The first book is sorta roadtrippy so it might be slow for some but if you like it, the rest of the series is hilarious and fast. I read it when I was a tween and I remember how I could finish one book a day because I couldn’t stop reading them until I eventually caught up to them. It’s not a finished series, but if you just want to pick them up for fun once in a while I would say those are good. 😁

Imo Night Prince isn't as good as Night Huntress, especially if you aren't familiar with the world/characters yet.

I haven't read it since the last book came out, but the Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur is one that I was obsessed with back in the day. The main character is half-werewolf half-vampire and both her and her brother act as a type of paranormal police for the city. Each book has a crime/mystery element, and she gets help from a sexy vampire who she develops a romance with (she also has other third party love interests too that create some mini love triangles throughout the series). I'm not sure how well it would hold up today, but I remember it being one of my fave paranormal series, so if you can find it somewhere and are interested, I'd be curious to know what you think. I never see anyone mention it on Youtube, which is shocking to me.

A paranormal readathon sounds good because even when a don't like the subgenre that much one of my all time favorite series is Beautiful monsters by Jex Lane and Captive was the main reason why I started reading MM romances. I always wonder why if you are not enjoying a book you continue with the next book in the series when you know that you are not liking it that much and especially when you have so many other books to read. Just wondering.

I’ve read a ton of PNR. My top 3 are JR Ward BDB series, Lara Adrian Midnight Breed, and Teresa Gabelman Protector series (she is an indie author). I like Jeaniene Frost, but if you do decide to read more from her definitely start with Cat and Bones, you kinda jumped into the middle of the huntress world. Cat and bones is a great hate to love story. I agree with you on Lynsay Sands, what gets frustrating is that each book follows the exact same plot line, and I feel like I’m reading the same books with a few minor changes. It was ok, but there’s much better!

  12. Jeaniene Frost was an author that I enjoyed when I first got into PNR but I do feel she is a hit or miss author.
If you are interest in reading more PNR novels .. I have an ongoing book list of previous PNR novels that I have reviewed and it's sorted by the characters' paranormal ability … that you may be interested in too. If not I understand. =0)

I also find Lindsay Sands so boring. I would recommend you to read Nalini Singh. You can start with slave of sensation. Is the first book in her psy-challenging series you are going to discover some amazing plot lines and characters as you continue reading the series. I also recommend you Inmortals after dark by kresley Cole. I think this 2 author are the top favourites in the romantic-paranormal books world.

Lynsay Sands does write a lot, but just because they write a lot doesn't make it good. Popular and good are two Very different things. Sands is typically a 3 star for me at best. I find a lot of her stuff to be rather high on the cheesy scale. Frost's Cat and Bones series is better than the Night Prince though again it is a 7 book series and some are better than others. If you want to give paranormal another try. Then I would recommend Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. There's an overarching story; however, you can also read them as stand alones without being lost as each follows a different couple. Ilona Andrews is just exceptional. Their Hidden Legacy series is really great. The first 3 centers around 1 couple. The next 3 center around another couple(last one not out yet). The world building and character development is ridiculously good. Suzanne Wright is another really solid paranormal author. She has several great series. Very clear character development and strong world building. My favorite series of hers is The Dark In You, but really all of her stuff is good. C P Rider is also really good. Again, strong character development and world building. Strong family/friend dynamics with great side kicks. The series is called Sundance and is very good with a nice slow burn romance that follows one couple. Nalini Singh is another great paranormal series author. Both her Guild Hunter and Psy-Changling series are great. Sadly, I feel like you picked a couple authors, while popular, aren't particularly skilled as authors. Sands, especially, tends to recycle her stories to the point where you're reading and you're like didn't I read about this "character type already" and you realize you did, but they were named Susan and the book you're holding now has a character named Carol, but she's the same girl just in a different book. The authors I gave you are also full of action too. Also, quite a bit of humor. Almost forgot, Annette Marie is another really good one. Her Guild Codex series and its spin-off series are excellent. Again, lots of world building and character development, action packed too. If you like action with the romance then I would also recommend Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series. It is superb. Slow burn but definitely worth the wait.
