Yes to all of this! I don't mind the word "smut" because it feels like a sub-genre. Not erotica or BDSM, but just a very short, sex-filled quickie of a book. I have a harder time with people calling it "trash" or "trashy" or a "guilty pleasure." The problem comes when people apply the term "smut" to the entire genre.

I'm not ashamed of watching porn or reading romance. People who believe that romance is "mommy porn," then they obviously have never read the books. There is a plot, a progression and a connection between characters. I have 3 college degrees and I hate when people say that uneducated people read romance…so untrue. I hate that people try to shame me for what I love to read. GREAT VIDEO!!!

Great discussion. I hate the term β€œmommy porn” too. It is so derogatory.

I hate terms like this!!! I love romance novels and have read them since I was in middle school. I've never hide my covers or justified my books to anyone. I love all kinds of romance from clean to dirty, but I personally need the love and connection. Their are so many fabulous writers and I don't think they get the reconation they deserve. Excellent video suzanne !!!πŸ’‹πŸ’–πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
