Hi Gwendolyn! I'd read Play and yes, Mal is the most manic romantic hero but he's so fun, I get swept up in his insanity. I'm always a fan of the funny with my romances. Have to say thanks for the Gail Carriger recommendation, I tore through her Parasol Protectorate series fairly quickly – definite a great quirky read. I'd recommend Lucy Score's Whiskey Chaser, handyperson/property manager heroine meets disgraced politician in small West Viriginia town), strong heroine, great beta hero, and love that there's an overarching suspense storyline for series. Also Kate Clayborn's Beginner's Luck and Luck of the Draw (three friends win lottery, find love seems trite but there's so much more). The heroines' friendship is fantastic, well developed characters (first heroine is scientist, second is attorney), well balanced storytelling. Really good stuff. Looking forward to your next vid 🙂

I highly recommend my personal favorite, the Portland Rebels series by Rebecca Grace Allen. I also suggest Loving Maddie From A to Z by Kelly Jamieson, the Dare series by Carly Phillips, When the Lights Go Out by Barbara Daly, and the Homefront series by Jessica Scott.

I just finished re-reading the Inn Boonsboro trilogy. I also find NR soothing from time to time. I first read this trilogy because I drove past the Inn itself, and was intrigued that she had set books in the location. I only found out later that she owned the physical Inn. She wrote an earlier trilogy set in an Inn being refurbished by three brothers that I like better, The MacKade Brothers. Also set in the same region, and also has a ghost sub-plot with a Civil War timing. I love the Donovan series of hers best.

I have been on a new adult roll. Some new favorites: JT Geissinger (Burn for you), Lucy score & Claire Kingsley (Bootleg Springs), Lauren Rowe (Morgan brothers), Kate Stewart (The Real) , Sara Net (Jock Row), and Lisa madden-mills (I dare you).

You sum up my feelings for Nora Roberts exactly. I only read the first book of the Innsboro trilogy. That ghost… it was just ridiculous.

Oh, it's so wonderful to see what you've been reading recently – I always love watching your videos. I wish I had recommendations for contemporary romances, but it's a huge blindspot for me. But I hope to fit some in this summer with doing the Summer Romance Book Bingo challenge (have you heard of it? Sarah from Not Just Romance Novels and Sissy of Romance Queen of Booktube are co-hosting, it's gonna be so much fun!). Happy Reading!

Glad you're back! I think Play was my favourite out of the Stage Dive books. Rather than find Mal's personality annoying, I think it actually makes it an enjoyable light read for me.
