Every time I see you talking about IAD I want to read that series! You make it sound so good. I’ve tried reading A Hunger Like No Other twice now but I still haven’t been able to finish it, sadly I haven’t enjoyed it. 🙁 I really want to enjoy it though, everyone loves this series! lol

I love you SO MUCH for bringing up the KA series! It’s such a great PNR series, but I never hear anyone talk about it! I admit that I usually skip the third book when I re-read. It’s ok, but the first two books are much better.
One thing, though. Archangel’s Sun doesn’t come out until November 24th, so it won’t work for this readathon. 😭

PNR sub genre is my first love in the romance genre! You’ll really love ‘How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire.’ I read it years ago and it was fun, funny, and steamy. 😊

I’ve only read the first book in “The Three” series. I was worried about what the couple was going to have to go through in the second book from some of the “foreshadowing” in that first book. 😆🤦🏻♀️

Sacrifice does not disappoint. 🔥🩸🔥 It’s just the first part of the story but no cliffhanger. And Dragon Bound is my all time favorite dragon shifter romance.

The Last Wolf was not a fave for me. It leans into the actual animal habits of wolves too much for me. I just read Mating the Huntress and loved it so much. Hoping to get to a Kerrelyn Sparks during the readathon.

As a huge PNR/UF lover, I'm really imressed at how many lesser known (on booktube anyway!) titles and authors you included, including my bae Shelley Laurenston (GA Aitken)! Putting you on notice that this will be quite long…
WHY have you not read more of the Green Creek books yet😆??? I started my re-read of the early ones last week once Brothersong came out and blew through the entire series. What a journey. If anything I love them all, but especially my baby Ox even more now. Brothersong broke me, but it's also really funny in a lot of places, much more than all the other ones, which came as a total surprise. A lot of people didn't like it as a series finale, but because the story came full circle I loved it. It shows realistically flawed characters; how sometimes good and loving people can make awful mistakes that have long lasting affects on others, but not in a malicious way, sometimes they are just misguided, sometimes desperation and others because they just didn't think things through fully and consider the impact of their actions.
I warn you now that Pride Mates is not amazing. I read that before Lord Ian Mackenzie and was astounded it was written at the same-ish time (2010) because the quality in that was much better. BUT, I LOVE the series overall for the world, the over-arching plot that runs throughout, the fact that not all the books/couples are set in a single location and the fae elements that appear throughout but don't like all of the romances in the series and read the series despite most of those. I would also suggest picking up the prequel novella. Again it is pretty dreadful in terms of the writing, but it gives the backstory of the shifters and how they are connected to the fae so I found it worthwhile for that.
I actually have a (as yet unread!) PDF version of Hot As Hades! I bought it waaaay back because I actually discovered Alisha Rai via her Samhain Publishing days when I used to read on my laptop 🤣. When I saw people on BT talking about her I was surprised as I hadn't known at the time she transitioned from an indie pub to a trad pub. She had a witchy one too called Cabin Fever that I read earlier this year and really enjoyed. It was probably around that time I first discovered Alyssa Cole too with her romantic suspense title, Eagle's Heart, which is kind of interesting as I know that they are fairly close friends these days. Lacey Thorn is another one that I knew from then, I read a few of her series that she published with Elloras Cave… those early online presses are what brought me back to romance after a long period of not reading any and is a big reason why so much of my romance is skewered towards indie authors. I used to spend silly amounts and end up with PDF files of books because it was before I'd heard of any other digital formats!
And Shelley Freaking Laurenston. Another one I first discovered back then, although I never actually read any of the Dragon books (I'm saving them for next year). I love the absolute absurdity, chaos and hilarity of her shifter books and read them all in order thankfully as with hers, that is the best way without getting confused. She is very hit or miss with most readers though because her books and characters really are OTT and they can give you whiplash with all the recurring characters but that just works for me. She also writes a very arcially diverse cast which is very unusual especially for when she first started and that applies to all of her books. She has a very definate style and that also includes females who are generally deadlier than the males. Even the apparently 'weak' ones lol! A good one to try is a standalone called Hunting Season which is based on Norse mythology and is nethier shifters or vampires. It has a bit more sex than her later books but otherwise is a typical example of her style.
I've got the Legends Of All Wolves series on my TBR, I'm eager to get to that soon but not this soon after Green Creek. I've heard that the characters are very animalistic but not necessarily(just) in a sexual way! I think it's also quite angsty. SO here for that!
Oh, and Talia Hibbert is writing more in the Mating The Huntress (which is hilarious!) world which makes sense as the FMC is part of a large wolf hunter family.
Recent series that I've read and loved are
The Grace Bloods trilogy by Jasmine Silvera. Beautiful and unique, it's mainly about necromancers, set in Prague, racially diverse cast and a perfect blend of romance and action. The FMC is a dancer for the gods and the dance scenes are gorgeous.
WVMP Radio series by Jeri Smith-Ready. Vampire DJs, a recovering con artitist turned mature student (she is mid 20s) and a vampire dog. Those two are both UF with a very strong romantic element.
Defenders, Protection Inc trilogy (so far) by Zoe Chant. These are mostly light and frothy and the selling point for me was flying kittens, and teleporting puppies!!! It's a shifter series with disabled FMCs who prove their weight in gold. I'm actually reading book 3 of this right now. This one is PNR.
And really, that is more than enough from me! TFS 🙂
