I completely agree that The Cinderella Deal follows this troupe BUT it was one I wasn't a fan of. *hahaa*

I do love Mr Grumpy & Miss Sunshine, specially in the scenario where Mr Grumpy protects the heroine throughout the whole story (knight, bodyguard, protective childhood friend etc) and is professionally proficient in fighting but then near the end of the story the heroine protects the hero instead and gets severely injured (I totally swoon at scenes of physically weak heroines saving physically strong heroes 😁) in the process up to the point where the hero is unsure whether she will survive, which she does in the end, of course, but not before the hero goes through the whole lot of emotional turmoil (she steps up in front of the bullet/arrow/blade, pushes the hero out of the car's/carriage's/horse's way and gets run over instead or similar situations). If there's also a hate-to-love element to their romance and the hero has to deal with his conflicting feelings and if she hates me, why did she protect me?! seems to me like a recipe for an A+ romance book! 😁
If anyone has recommendation for such stories, please do share! 😁 I've been craving some good romances for a long time, but no such luck in 2020 😭

I loved „The Failing Hours“ by Sara Ney. It‘s a new adult grumpy/sunshine romance. The hero is a bit of an asshole at the beginning but I really enjoyed his development 🥰

Grumpy/sunshine is the beeeeest trope! A girl like her by Talia Hibbert has a grumpy girl and sunshine hero and it's so sweet, their relationship evolves so naturally

This is one of my favorite trope to read about! Great recs Lisa! I actually read that historical thanks to one of Jessica's videos where she mentioned it. I liked it a lot! And I've had Ghost and Goth on my TBR for years but haven't gotten around to it. One of my fave books with this trope was The Failing Hours by Sara Ney.

Ohhh also I could totally add "Blues skies" by T.L Martin where the guy is all moody and the heroine is a real ray of sunshine. So much that her name is Blue lol

I loved The Billionaire's Fake Fiancee by Annika Martin which is weird because I usually read historicals and I usually HATE billionaire stories. I also highly recommend the audiobook. It had me laughing out loud. Jason Clarke is amazing.
