When Beauty Tames the Beast is one of my all-time favorites–the way he took care of her at the end cemented it for me! :')

can you recommend tropes like plain, spinster or older heroines with handsome heroes??

Lisa Kleypas… Ravenels 1+2. It starts in book 1 as a background story that develops into a romance in book 2. So it's kind of a combo. The hero in "Marrying Winterborne" (Book 2) is ill or injured (long time since I read it) in the first book, he's in the Ravenels home where the heroine is one of the sisters. With all the drama between the main characters in book 1 no one really pays attention to the man the way theyt should (they're kind and they worry but… DRAMA), so the heroine takes responsibility and volunteers to be his nurse. The start having feelings but Lisa Kleypas doesn't go far into it, she keeps it all for their book that's when their story blooms.

OMG next trope… Heroine dresses up as a man historical romance!!! I love that trope as well!!! I love the humor and colorful twists and turns of such a plot. You can guarantee that you will get laughs from the awkwardness that results from the disguising the heroine part and how the hero reacts. I love your recommendations. I want to read Dreaming of you and Yours till dawn and Seduction of a Highland Lass.

Try Ashes in the Wind for a romance in which the female disguises herself as a boy during the American Civil War. A favorite of mine.
