My favorite place in nyc. I actually found some rare books there like old Chinese poster books from the mao era and recipe books from the 1800s. You never know what you’ll find in there. It’s a fun little adventure each time you go in there. I actually spotted a really old copy of Peter Pan in the upstairs stacks once not a first edition more like possibly a second printing. geishavampiresa September 20, 2021 at 1:09 pm Thanks for the tip, another place to go to when in Chinatown!!! Kute'N'Fluffy September 20, 2021 at 1:09 pm Beryl, I would LOVE to see a "Day of Yemeni Food" video. It'd be an excellent opportunity to highlight the devastating humanitarian crisis in Yemen through the lens of food, as you have done so wonderfully for other communities. I appreciate the way in which you convey respect without resorting to cheap pity when you focus on marginalized/disenfranchised populations. You continually remind us that it's not "just food, " but a small window into other people's lives and cultures, and understanding and appreciating and respecting each other for our similarities as well as our differences. Plus, I know from personal experience that Yemeni food is delicious and that you will LOVE it! 😉 Mou Bhattacharyya September 20, 2021 at 1:09 pm Amazing that book stores are still there in NYC. Sad part is such nice artwork /books are sold $2 and out in the open, soon to be disposed, may be. May be I am wrong. Good side & bad side, e-books mean no chopping down the trees for paper but eventually will take the joy of reading a book, out. Screen reading is no good for our brain either. Ange Maidment September 20, 2021 at 1:09 pm I love bookshops. And libraries. And secondhand books that have been read and studied and loved 💜💜💜 Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.
