I really enjoyed the Sapphic historical romances by Olivia Waite because of the age of their heroines Susanna Carr July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I agree that Sarah Morgan's stories are great! Another author readers might want to check out is Jayne Ann Krentz. I think the majority of her work show heroines in their 30s and heroes in their late 30s or early 40s. Danielle Yarbrough July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I love this video💕 Such an awesome idea & recommendations👍🏾 Comfycozyup July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I love a good romance novel with older characters, especially 50 and up. Abby Salter July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Great to hear about these books with older protagonists. I need to get to take a hint Dani Brown. purrfectlypatti July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm This doesn't exactly meet this criteria BUT "The Idea of You" by Robinne Lee is about a 40 year old divorced mother of a 13 year old who gets involved with a 21 year old boy band singer. I thought it was well done. The Bookish Mom July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I don't read a lot of romances but I think I may really like some with characters in their 30s! It is always nice to see people closer to my own age. I do plan on reading House in the Cerulean Sea this month! a small joy July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I'm saving this for later because I'm an elder millennial. 😀 Amanda Bria July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm What an awesome video! Thanks for all the recommendations. I think I'll pick up A Wedding in December next month and The House in the Cerulean Sea soon. Serena C. July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I literally just finished The House in the Cerulean Sea and it was awesome! On another note, one of my favourite (speculative) mature romance is in The Amberlough Dossiers trilogy. 🙂 alrescha75 July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm The House In The Cerulean Sea was definitely one of my favorite books this year. I borrowed the ebook from my library but had to have a physical copy because I know it will be a comfort reread in the future. One author I thought of, though her stuff isn't romance but I think more fiction with romantic elements maybe… but Maeve Binchy has some great novels IMO. Stella’s Book Binge July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Queen Move by Kennedy Ryan has older characters (in her 30’s I think) and a cinnamon roll hero 😍. I think The Takeover by TL swan might have older (30’s) characters. She’s a widow with 3 kids. Electric Bearbearina July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm As a romance reader in her late 30s, I love this video. Thank you! Stephanie R July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Older romances tend to have less petty drama, which i am here for Malex__ July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm The House in the Cerulean Sea is everything 💜 And I can't wait to read Spoiler Alert!Another one I'd recommend in this category is The Switch by Beth O'Leary. It follows a young woman and her grandma (in her late 70s) who exchange their life/house, the grandma ends up in London trying to meet people and find love. The romance is not the focal point of the story but it's really sweet and funny with some heavier topics thrown in (similar to The Flatshare from the same author). Sydney West July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Great recommendations Bethany. I def wrote a lot of these down. MLLatUtube July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm The first book that came to mind was a Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory. The heroine comes to England with her grown daughter. The Switch is also a lovely story. I like stories with older heroines. Thanks for this list. Margaret Pinard July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Yes for the widow power!!–I feel a superhero smashup coming…🤔😇 Mirnatius July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Carla Kelly has a few I think! I really liked The Admiral’s Penniless Bride which fits the bill. Heroine in her 30s and hero in his 40s. And I’m really looking forward to reading House at the Cerulean Sea, it sounds adorable. 😍 Jessica Williamson July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Are you saying there's still hope for me at 33? I do have the Christmas Sisters, I need to get to that this December. I really need to get Spoiler Alert. It sounds like my perfect book. Thanks for the recs, I've got some new ones added to the list! One I liked with a just barely 30 y/o MC was The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. It's probably more finding oneself/family drama than strictly romance, but I really enjoyed the book overall! Phasered84 July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I just saw Christmas sisters on hoopla, now I think I might check out this author now. Phasered84 July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I see Robyn Carr everywhere Phasered84 July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I really need to read Tila Hibert Phasered84 July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I love that TJ Klune book TheEmmaLucille July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm The House on the Cerulean Sea is SO sweet!!! Wilde Book Garden July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I just got The Christmas Sisters based on your previous recommendation! For the food/weight aspect of Robyn Carr's books you mentioned, would you say it's portrayed as a negative attitude to have? or is it not really dealt with?I loved book 1 in that Olivia Waite series but have heard mixed things about the sequel so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!Loved hearing these recs! From Me to You ... Video, Photography, & Book Reviews July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm What a fun list! This isn't something that I track in my reading but it is fascinating. Tarrell Bellinger July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm The House in the Cerulean Sea was the first TJ Klune book I've ever read and it is utterly fantastic! Cannot recommend it highly enough! Thanks! 💗 I have an interesting request for you. Can I please suggest you do romance recommendations based on our favorite '90s movies in a future video? Happy for Now July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Love this list! I've been working on one too and we've got some good overlap 😍 Gretchen D July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm I didn't realize some of these were older age romances but loveeee! Alicia Guzman July 21, 2021 at 4:34 pm Romance is usually not a genre I gravitate towards because the few that Ive read haven't really worked out for me. Im glad I found your channel and that I found this video. I have some very awesome new recs. Hope your New Year is off to a great start !!!
