Highkey interested in Beach Read & The Simple Wild now, who would have thought. Also I love how the smut-level judge is Chelsea because that's also who I'd trust with this 😂👍🏻 High five mind of mollie September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I loved this! I'm so intrigued bu#y historical romance now I keep hearing so much about it! avasromancebooks September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I’ve never clicked on a video faster!😂 em likes books September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I loved this so much!!! I am definitely going to pick up The Simple Wild. I feel like I always just accept that there's going to be some dumb conflict in a romance, but if I can get one without it then sign me UP!For a book that really has depth for both characters, I'd recommend Bromance Book Club! it's an already established couple who are sort of just finding themselves and each other again. and I feel like the woman is more of the grump which is a funny twist 😂I read a different hyped Christina Lauren book (mentioned in this video lmao) and I found it to also be very underwhelming… didn't get it lol but glad I'm not the only one!!I might have to pick up The Lady's Guide for gays gone by 👀 ella's novellas September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I was disappointed by unhoneymooners too, I liked the idea but it was just one of those where I didn't like the characters or get the relationship! I think you might like the flat share if you haven't read it already! It deals with some heavier issues like trauma from previous relationships but the actual relationship in the book is really healthy and the main guy is such a sweetheart!! kirstyreadsblog September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am As someone who loves Christina Lauren, I really didn't get the hype with The Unhoneymooners, it's my least fave of the books of theirs I've read. If you're open to trying more from Rebekah Weatherspoon, she has a sapphic romance called Treasure Read By Jess September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am So glad you enjoyed Beach Read!! I recently read and enjoyed it. I’ve added The Simple Wild to my tbr! I had never heard of it before but it’s so popular?? Sad you didn’t love The Unhoneymooners – I don’t usually like a ‘bad’ male lover interest but their enemies to lovers storyline just worked for me! You should try Colleen Hoover! I’ve just read All Your Perfects and I really enjoyed it esmeatgrlpwr September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am The secret project is now blossoming in the wild and I loved it YAY !!! I'm so excited to read The Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics so we can share our thoughts 😂 I'm definitely intrigued by The Simple Wild wow your impact x That Liz Hunter September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I'm going to have to add Beach Read to my list – of all the books you talk about it is the ONE I've heard about most and it just strikes me as something I'd really enjoy. Also, loved the intro!! If I Never Met You sounds like it had such potential and I'm disappointed that it seems like a huge let down. Bebella September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am Your top 3 for this video were actually already on my tbr! Now I'm even more excited about them. I actually started getting into romance this year, and I've been really enjoying this ride, although ngl it does get a bit weird sometimes haha Yvonne reads YA September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I also prefer slow burn romance without smut so if you do read more romance in the future I'll definitely be interested to see what you think! I've only just started reading romance so sadly I don't have any recommendations to give. Jenn Book September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I love the unhoneymooners – I gave it 5 stars Rebecca McPeake September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I loved this video so much!!! I never read romance either but it’s definitely something I’d be interested in trying! Honestly your reviews of books just sound so intricate, you pay really good attention to detail like that just always comes across when you talk about books! Which is what I love about your videos, I really want to read beach read now it sounds so good 💖 Travels in Fiction September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I really enjoyed this vlog! You have made me really want to pick up Beach Read and The Simple Wild now (i've seen a lot of good thing already about The Simple wild as well!). Also sad about the Mhairi McFarlane book – I haven't read that particular one but I'm completely with you in hating any form of girls against girls and using 'slag' and 'slut'. There's just no need and it puts me off too. I'm wondering whether I'd feel the same if I went back and read her other books. The first book I read of hers was You Had Me at Hello and that was years ago, and I'm wondering if it was similar and I just didn't pick up on it at the time! Bookswithlayla September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I need to jump on the bandwagon for the beach read! I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! elenathegreat September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I do like romances with more than just romance haha so I am looking forward to Beach Read. I feel like I've had mixed feelings on every Christina Lauren book that I've read so I'm super curious about the Unhoneymooners huh I am surprised there wasn't full on smut lol like their other books are fairly descriptive ellexamines September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am this is SUCH a fun idea for a video and honestly I am the same about romance! i was SO excited to see A Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics on this. i do totally understand feeling Lady's Guide was too fast — i totally agree, though, their conflict is really excellent, and i think that's why it resonated with me so much! also Beach Read is on my list now!! Maddie & Bee September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am Lily, this video is so great!! Love this format and how much you talked about each book, I’m so convinced to add some of these to my tbr! Beach Read and The Simple Wild sound amazing, that element of heaviness is what I look for in the YA I read, so I’d love to see it in romance too! Also, good eggs > grumpy boys ✌️ dearestemma September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I love this so much! I’m not a big romance reader either so it was fun seeing you test out a genre that I don’t usually gravitate towards. Also, I felt the EXACT SAME WAY about The Unhoneymooners. Crazy Booklady September 16, 2021 at 9:05 am I think you actually might like The Flat Share 🙂 Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
