I totally agree with you about not wanting to be in the male's perspective in a M/F romance. I find myself cringing so much! Like can we just have a sweet moment and see the woman as more than just someone the guy is sexually attracted to?

Ah….to see an outside without snow. I didnt think us here in Minnesota were going to have a white winter for Christmas for the first time in years and then like MN likes to do, it rained, then dropped to 10° & then snowed like 10 inches all within a freaking hour. Thanks mother nature. I know we are damn near Canada but come on!!!! Ease into winter b*tch!!!

your rant about tropes took me back to my Science Fiction/Fantasy class when I was getting my Master's in Children's Literature. One of our assignments was to write a trope paper–picking our favorite or any trope and writing about three books we had read that used it. SFF is not my genre so I ended up angrily writing about the desert (bc the verdant green countryside and lush forests are so idolized, esp. in British fantasy) from the perspective of the desert lol. anyway, I think you would have written a killer trope paper haha

Agree 100% about the chosen one trope! I get so annoyed when people go on about it because I love it so much! And I don’t need it to be subverted – I keep hearing it’s good when it’s subverted! Like no thanks! If I’m reading because I like the trope and an author subverts the trope I no longer want to read your book!

One of us is lying is nothing compared to the rest of the teen murder genre you recommend, I have no idea why so many people like it other than maybe it’s their intro to the genre. I recommend e. Lockhart books instead

I loved the look into your planners and supplies! Definitely would love an in depth video on your 2021 journals and setups. Also, I'm curious what printer you have for printing photos for your journals? I've been looking for a new one as mine is super old and finding supplies is getting impossible.

Ok, but am I the only one who can never tell who character art is supposed to be of, even if I've read and loved the book? I see booktubers all the time look at character art and immediately be like "oh it's so and so" but I usually can't even guess the books. Am I just completely unobservant to character descriptions?? I have aphantasia and cant "picture" them anyway, so maybe I really don't log character descriptions in my brain.

I absolutely loved ONE OF US IS LYING. Karen McManus is my favorite author and that book is what got me back into reading. It is definitely worth reading. There is a gay main character but I do not feel that his sexuality was used only to further the plot. The way it was done made sense and was not insensitive. I also disagree with people saying the author didn't have a plan, it was obvious to me that the plot was very well thought out. Yes, there was drama, but every thriller/mystery has drama. Also to the point that some people say situations were handled poorly by the characters, you have to remember that the characters are literally high school age children and reacted the way most teenagers would.
