I just read a Cold Hearted Rake and what you said about their romance taking a step back I felt that!! It started off so strong and then I felt like it was really dragging because we kept going to Helen 🤐 I'm glad the third book was better though

The Hathaways series by her is really good!! It's another one that kind of spins off the Wallflowers series, but it's executed better. I've read most of her backlist (except the Vallerands and a few standalone) and its all pretty good. I think my problem with the Ravenels is that she's started to recycle her characters and situations, so for someone who has read a lot of her work everything feels kind of stagnant and forced. It's still pretty good, but just not as good.

Iā€˜ve read the full series this year, and it was my introduction to Kleypas. I enjoyed it overall and didnā€˜t mind that the first book contained two storylines, but it did drag out the second book for me, when it didnā€˜t follow the same structure and didnā€˜t introduce the third book.
I have since started reading the Wallflower series, and what I will say is that, compared to the Ravenel series, I have found it to be more questionable in terms of consent. I understand that the Wallflowers were published earlier, but having to take that step back is a little annoying, especially when you have an example of how it could play out instead.

Hi Lisa! Thank you for this video! I love LK but I DNFed Cold Hearted Rake and Marrying Winterborne. I was just bored and couldn’t get into the characters. I didn’t believe their chemistry and I just didn’t care, so I haven’t continued on with the series. However, please read the Hathaways series!!! It’s amazing and my favorIte LK series!! I think you’d really enjoy it if you love LK!

I need to read the last three books of the series. Honestly I will admit I don't like this series as much as her other series.
The first half of Cold Hearted Rake was boring to me, but the rest of the book picked up and I enjoyed it more and I believe I gave the book 3 stars as well. I have enjoyed her older books better, and this new series is disappointing because I love Lisa Kleypas

I wasn’t a huge fan of the Ravenels series, except the Devil’s Daughter. All the other guys just felt the same.
The Wallflowers series is my fav, esp the first and third

I read them out of order. And really enjoyed it. I read 5, 2,3,4,6,1. I thought they held up as stand alone novels, and I hated the first book. I thought the guy was emotionally abusive, so it almost ruins the other books for me.

I think the black and white dress for ā€œHello Strangerā€ is a play on her being a doctor 🄼

Wallflowers is the best Kleypas series, but my favorite single book of hers is Dreaming of You.

Lisa I appreciate your commentary about Lisa kleypas all her books are great my favorite is dreaming of you. Please try to do a comments to the generation of the first books in the 70 and 80. I acknowledged that there a controversy but there so good and unfortunately those stories are great and readers does not appreciate their content. Thanks šŸ™ from new jersey

Ooooo so excited to talk to other people who've read the Ravenel Series! What I liked about them is that they followed tropes to the point of ridiculous, so I was less bothered by the out of touch reality. Cold Hearted Rake had me absolutely tee-heeing, Marrying Winterbourne reminded me of The Paradise. I remember looking forward Pandora's and Gabriel's novel, which I enjoyed, but it did seem that she wasn't following through on the characters she had created. I was so disappointed in Cassandra and Tom's story – it was more about self discovery for Tom. It did have nice fluff at the end, though I agree it falls weirdly flat as a series finale. Who could possibly be left? Unless they grow up dear little Carys šŸ˜›

The next one comes out in July 2021. You were a bit harsh in your critique but I'd agree that these aren't Lisa's best books. I think they are still good though. I never had to force myself to get through them or quit reading one though.

I think I'm the type of person who can read the same storyline over and over again with different characters and still love every minute of it! I loved this series so much, more the later books, (book 1 got confusing), but I never really hate hearing the same troupes and storylines, I love it

I came across a new author on amazon by the name "Mary Selseleh" . You go through a series of different emotions reading her books. I couldn't put the books down for days. Suer engaging and just different if you“re in for a new adventure.
