Friends-to-lovers is my absolute favorite romance trope! (and the only trope I can most relate to) Although funnily enough I rarely read actual books with it, I usually read friends-to-lovers fanfic (mostly b/c it's very easy to filter trope/theme tags on AO3 to match my particular mood). Dani Brown is absolute top tier romance, and the only book on this list I've read, but I might check out some others.

The closest I've got to a friends to lovers trope that I enjoyed is Sweethand by N.G. Peltier. They run both in the same circles and have some frienships overlap but never spent much time together.

I love this trope when it is done well. I've read four so far this year but only two were done really well. First up: Go Deep Rilzy Adams. Runner up: Can't Catch Me Alexandra Warren. This next one is a Falling For My Best Friends Sibling trope but I'm including it because they were friends too by extension and it was done better than the Runner Up previously mentioned— Birthday Shot Rilzy Adams.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE me friends-to-lovers. It's ironic that 2 of my favorite ships of all time are enemies-to-lovers but I just love friends-to-lovers. Especially if they're friends that they've known each other since they were kids and later grow feelings. I eat it up everytime.
