My Genre/Setting is Fantasy/SciFi.
Yes, it's a blend between the two that appears a mere fantasy at the start but reveals slowly the SciFi elements as the story progresses.

Thank you, Derek. I'm so grateful for this free class from someone with your experience. Well done!
I retired from working as a technical writer and have written some poetry, a nonfiction book and some articles. My free website is catboxpress.com. I have an idea for a novel I've been kicking around for a couple years, and I think it's time to get serious about writing it. That's why I'm here.

I like the second draft – the adding of details. The first draft for me is almost like screenwriting. It works well for some scenes, but my present project requires more color than my previous one.

This is vocational.
I think you either used it by mistake- or you are confused about what the word means.
As an advisor in the realm of language I would like to think you are more careful going forward.

Thanks for the video. Very well illustrated from the very beginning. Onto part 2 tomorrow but you leave me with questions I have to fix (even though they might not be included in the novel). So what did I learn? Mainly it's about the characters and how they influence the protagonist's journey, which because of your video I am changing. That in itself is the inciting incident so thanks.
