I’ll definitely be picking up The Bride Test now. I read and loved The Kiss Quotient so I’m not sure why I didn’t pick The Bride Test up.

Oohh these are all such great recommendations! Well Met is already on my TBR and I'll definitely be picking up Roomies because it sounds like a great time😍

I've heard amazing things about the Bride Test and I really want to read it but I also don't want to read it because people say its so sweet but also sad and I don't want to read books that make me feel sad right now. Also I loved Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie in which Ian is on the autism spectrum but the one thing I really missed in that book was the banter that most romance books usually have because Ian isn't much of a talker. And I live for the banter so I was just a wee bit disappointed and haven't really picked up another book with an autistic main character since then.

I have read lots more 'comfort' books this year than usual…wonder why 🧐. Here are some of my 2020 feel goods:
    >Holidays With The Wongs novella series by Jackie Lau. Very funny, very feel good with lots of yummy food descriptions. Four very different siblings and a set of very meddling parents and grandparents…
    >Welcome To Sea Port novella series by Katrina Jackson. Small town steam, with a touch of exhibitionism, in a totally wholesome package!
    >7th and Main trilogy by Elizabeth Hunter. More small town goodness, with a side package of outdoorsy nerdiness.
    >Wild Sweet Love by Beverly Jenkins – The spunkiest FMC I've ever come across, with some fantastic one-liners!
    >Mayday: Tinder Love in the Golden Years by Kat Addams – Septgenerians in all their messy glory!
    >Fae Shifter Knights (2 books so far) by Zoe Chant – Not so much time travelling, but dimension hopping. Think the movie Kate & Leopold… but with Fae… and cute doggos!
    >Blind Date with a Book Boyfriend by Lucy Eden – A romance reading bear of a guy.o
    > The Write Escape by Charish Reid. An Irish Academic (with an awesome mum) and a wannabe American Romance author meet in Ireland and sparks fly over discussions of history and literature.
    >The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. A list of feelgood books would not be complete without this masterpiece which is a giant hug in the form of a book.

Lastly, my comedy queen Shelley Laurenston. All of her books (PNR/UF) are totally screwball chaotic shenanigans that have me howling with laughter! The Female really IS deadlier than the male!!! TFS 🙂

I don't know about happiest, but some of the funniest I've read are The Vintage Guide to Love and Romance by Kirsty Greenwood; Twenties Girl and I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella; Hustle Sweet Love by Maggie Davis; All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins.

Oh I am adding a couple of books here on my TBR!!! ❤

I loved Roomies so much! And also Josh & Hazel but I am not loving their other books TBH. Especially The Unhoneymooners (unpopular opinion)

Edit: OMG I love Nordic King! I binged that series after I read that book!

Lovely! I loved Well Met and need to add the sequel to my tbr for sure!
I actually preferred The Kiss Quotient, there were a lot of plot points that made no sense to me that took me out of The Bride Test. Mainly as someone who moved to the US at 23, having never been there before, I have to say her experience sounded a bit fake. But again – my own experience of changing continents stood in the way of enjoying the story. Especially since she didn’t even speak English! It was just a bit too fantastical. But those types of stories are really hard for Americans to write, because there’s no way they could possibly know what a culture shock that is.
Oh and thank you for talking about Roomies! I had that book on my tbr for the longest time and now actually knowing what it’s about I’ll have to take it off my list, because again the story is too close for comfort. I generally try to avoid books about Broadway or musical theatre as a rule. I tend to not care about the story and instead focus on all the details that are not accurate. I become an egomaniacal cynical monster. Yikes.
    So thanks!
It’s so great seeing how passionate you are about these books!! Especially if (like in bride test) I haven’t had the same experience – it’s a great reminder that all books have their perfect audience, and my own taste and opinion is just my own; and not a reflection of the quality of the book/story.
    ❤️❤️

Fun recommendations! Roomies and Well Met are on my TBR and I cannot wait to read them. 💕 I have a couple of interesting questions for you. Which romantic tropes do you wish people would see and read more of? And who's your favorite Regency romance boyfriend?
