I felt like I hated those stories. They kind of make you feel trapped. I really felt like that while reading You. I felt really uncomfortable even though I love horror, my fave genre. That one was too intense, but I do love the T.V. show. I've met Penn Badgley, he was nice in LAX airport, my mom took a pic of us haha. Rajah Johnson September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm You had me at Fleetwood Mac !!!! Mary Among Stories September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm YES The Nightingale 💙 what a beautiful book! rubytadpole September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I’ve heard so many good things about Dark Matter. Guess I need to read it! Jennifer Edward September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Loved Daisy Jones & the Six… Especially the audiobook And You by Caroline Kepnes… Eduardo Cominetti September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Hmm, I would recommend Warbreaker before Mistborn. It is a single book and free on the internet, so it is a smaller commitment. Maëlys Reads September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Mistborn is definitely one for the long haul, the third book is especially intense! Kayla Gibson September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Thanks so much for your recommedations in this video Mrs.heather I just wanted to let u know that I'm going to DM, u my bffs book that I told u about last comment ( here's my Instagram name so u know @WATKINSKAYLA )LOVE KAYLA Runrun Pan September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Great recommendations. Love all the book you mentioned here! Zainab Zaheer September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Loved this. So much YA on booktube and that’s great but it’s refreshing to find someone who reads a lot of adult fiction. Following! Chick's Bookstop September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I love historical fiction! Have you read the "Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society"? You might like it! Natalie Dove September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm My commentary on your books:I loved the Nightingale. Soooo good. As soon as you said, " If you love Fleetwood Mac…" I know I had to buy that book. It's been on my list, but now it's on its way!Bear Town is so amazing, Everything I've read by Bachman is amazing. Eleanor is one of my favorite characters. Have you read Britt-Marie was here? It's by Frederik Bachman and it's kind of similar to Eleanor. She's first introduced in one of his other books as a minor character. Magical Toyland September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm i've read almost all of the books you recommended! hahaha and i love all of them Crystal B September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Love this whole list! So much ya on YouTube so it’s refreshing to see a list of other genres! I have read every book you’ve recommended lol. I have a few suggestions for you: the Alice network and all the light we cannot see for the historical fiction genre. No exit by Taylor Adams for the thriller genre. And lastly shelter in place by Nora Roberts technically a romance book but honestly sooooo much more then the romance. Emily Rogers September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Great list. I have read some of these booksandhave some of them on my TBR. Emily Dries September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Not going to lie, the second you said you had 3 books you said you were going to recommend in the romance section I was like there’s the hating game, Josh and hazels guide to not dating, and the kids quotient haha. I know you so well 🙂 Dani Matos September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm The Nightingale became my favorite book of all time. It is amazing, I never realized how much you can feel reading. The tears were genuine and I couldn't stop crying until I finished the book. It is the first one I think when someone ask for a recommendation and I have the urge to give a copy to everyone that I love who loves to read as much as me. EarthMoonStars September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Can i get some advice? I personally dont like books that are all about characters- i want more plot. I like suspense/thriller. Is there anyway of knowing beforehand if a book is more about the character than plot?? For example, ive read so many books like Watching You, The Perfect Girlfriend. Woman in the Window ect ect & they’re just all so boring bookellenic September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I loved Eleanor Oliphant and really enjoyed Vicious! Norma 22 September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I loved Dark Matter-read it in a day! I agree would be a great movie! FierceGlambert September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Wow! I have read & love the exact same books in all categories you recommended… except Romance & Chic Lit (which I'm not a big fan) & I'm definitely putting those on my TBR now! & The Nightingale too. Thank you for this great video. Why did I know about your channel til now! 😱😍 Michele Young September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Thank you for this review! It was helpful to hear you define the different genres and for you to review adult fiction and not young adult books, as that seems to be many of the reviews on YouTube. Also, your voice and way of speaking are very nice. (Not to sound creepy!) lovingpeepsxoxo September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I LOVE the Nicky Glass Series Natalie K September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I would love a good Adult recommendation for my next book. I enjoy reading the hard subject matters that stir up all kinds of emotions. I feel we are so desensitized by all we view online & tv that it takes that hardcore page turner to really grab you. (whether it's an Alcatraz story, racisim, abuse on a southern plantation, starving orphan, prostitution etc) …. just a truly good read that punches… I'd really appreciate it. 💕 Cristian Radulescu September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm –>Historical<–1. OnlyRents September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I’m not sure if you check your comments on past videos of yours, but I was wondering how I can find “chick lit” books at my local library? My library is sorted by author, not genre. It’s just a lot trying to go around and find books written by chick lit authors. I feel like I hit a dead-end with every author. It would be nice if they just sorted the books by genre, and then by author within the genre. Any suggestions? Also, their website isn’t quite up- to- date. I tried looking on there. cham September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm i got really tired of YA and this is the first video on adult fiction books i found, thank you for making it!! i think i’ve grown out of young adult and adult fiction is a whole new world that’s a bit difficult to navigate since there’s less info about it in booktube/instagram communities! Liz bth September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm holy shit you talk so much just give the reccommendations! video starts at 1:35 Ishika H September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Omg, I LOVE The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! And I just ordered Daisy Jones and the Six today…😊 Natalia Feenstra September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm The moment you pulled up the nightingale I’ve decided to subscribe:) Tareq AlSalem September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I'm personally very confused by the admiration Circe gets… I genuinely thought the writing was lazy, the characters were extremely unlikable and unrelatable, and most importantly none of the mini stories nor the ending "paid off" in any way. Again, just my personal harsh opinion 🙂 izzy startin September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I've loved some of these, and you've convinced me to read Bear town and Vicious! Erica Bumgardner September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I’m loving your look today! Thank you for the recommendations, I’ve been trying to read more adult fiction as well. Jen September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Youre idea of historical – WW II !! thats not even 100 yrs ago – hysterical 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Alfred Me September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I absolutely love your review. Thanks you Katya Reads September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Try Kristen Hannah's "Once in Every Life". ZelL September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm My first time watching you but I already know you have a great taste! Some of your recommended books are what I’ve been itching to get my hands on! Thanks for the other recs that also sound awesome 🙂 Jessica Watson September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah is one of my all time faveroute books. Jessica Watson September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I loved Eleanor Oliphant… so much! I wouldn’t call it fluffy or lighthearted. There were a lot of laughs but it also covers her struggles. aamir Naseer September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm You are amazing ❤️ Ivan Cordero Torres September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Please consider my new Dark Fantasy novel “Armilus: And So, The End Begins” for your next review. Humbly, Ivan Cordero Torres, the Author. Trisha Wood September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I loved the show You, and read the book, but not sure if I liked how different it was😕not sure what I liked better lol Tish E September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Loved Final Girls! Thanks so much! Flan Plan September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm I’ve always gone for more adult fiction for as long as I can remember, and I’m a reader who doesn’t care about the genre—if it’s well written and gripping, then I’ll take it. Hell, my first adult books were to kill a mockingbird, lord of the rings, the hobbit, Romeo and Juliet, and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (I also read Watchmen around the same time as Girl with the dragon tattoo—around 11/12/13). I’ve noticed that a lot of booktubers tend to lean towards novels that are MG/YA—nothing wrong with that, but I think the case is is that most of their audience tends to be geared towards that genre or is around the age demographic or because they are young adults themselves—though I tended to have a fondness (and still do) for adult fiction with child/teen narrators/protagonists (just because the protagonist is young and around the age range doesn’t necessarily mean it’s YA). I think that maybe reading from a very very early age might be that way—my mom used to, when I was a baby/early toddler, put board books in my crib for me to entertain myself if I woke myself up. Marcin Czek September 2, 2021 at 5:49 pm Wow! I really recommend also this book: https://youtu.be/bRLy99f6GxQ 🙂 Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.
