Yeah, I don’t really gravitate toward them either. But thank you for mentioning some that you have read! One that I can think of is maybe Annie’s Song by Catherine Anderson. So much emotional angst between two genuinely kind people. My heart ached throughout the story, which is why the ending made me so happy. I’m not one to care for epilogues tbh, but that epilogue was one I would think about often because it was so well deserved. 🥺

Hahaha SAME! I avoid sad books or any book that has the potential to make me cry. No no. The only sad books I read are the books I read accidentally without knowing it was an emotional book.

I feel your vibe. I have to be in the mood to cry to venture into the heartbreaking books. They are typically always 5 star reads because of everything the characters go through together, but it just takes so much out of me to read them. All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover (about miscarriages and a failing marriage) and The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo (about losing a soul mate) are the two saddest books I’ve ever read. I’m glad I read both, but I’m talking ugly crying happened with both.
