Can you do book recommendations for clean romance or books with very little "sexy time" scenes. : D Thank you, that would be really helpful. 🙂

Great list, Farah! I also chose The Martian. I think you've got better things to do when you're stuck on Mars, than to think about your love life…

Wow! I'm kinda early this time!
Absolutely loved the idea cuz most books have romance flying in the air. I'll definitely check them out 😀

Hello! I am new to your channel and I love your personality! Awesome list by the way. I read Animal Farm back in middle school and I loved it.
Torn Away by Jennifer Brown has zero romance in it!

i think timur vermes' last name is pronounces ver-mesh, it's not a german name and a german way to pronounce the way this is written but i think his family is from somewhere in eastern europe? i think it's super interesting that you enjoyed that book because most jokes work becausw they make fun of things in german society and culture so i wasn't expecting this to actually also come across in a translation haha

Have definitely added a couple of those to my TBR…
My personal top 5 (that come to mind at the moment):
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Room by Emma Donoghue
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein (99% sure this was romance free… certainly not even close to being the focus if any is mentioned)
The Giver by Lois Lowry

I'm nearing the end of Everyone Brave is Forgiven, and All The We Cannot See is definitely my next WWII era novel on my list (book covers with skies or cityscapes are a guilty pleasure aha). Of the books I can think of, I think The Road and No Country For Old Men would be in my list (basically a good chunk of Cormac McCarthy's repertoire). Great video Farah!

OOOOOO I forgot about Animal Farm when I was coming up with my list! Ah I kind of wish I put that on my list now… I only thought of 1984 and I was like uhhhh nope doesn't fit this T5W XD

Love this list! I adored The Martian and All the Light We Cannot See. Wonderful books and it's so nice to not read about romance. Honestly it can be a little cringe-worthy sometimes! I just stumbled upon your channel yesterday and I'm loving it! Subscribed!

ok I just found your channel and I've been hardcore binge watching your vids and it's so nice to see a new face! I love booktube but it's usually just the same like four people. I'm thinking about starting to make book videos in addition to my other stuff, but I'm concerned my pov has been hit like a zillion times before. Any advice?

I loved All the Light We Cannot See so much. The way that they were tied together through the Professor's recordings was so great. And the motifs throughout of his lessons!

Interesting list! I definitely have hard time finding reading material for my tastes a lot because I have so little interest in romantic subplots. Though I must say, when I'm looking for non-romantic books, that doesn't mean I'm looking for a depressing dirge of a commentary on human society! (Animal Farm. That book was messed up.)
