hey this is probably rude to ask but I've noticed that in a lot of your videos you've mentioned not being able to watch movies, is there a reason for this ? hope you're doing well.

YES!!! Emma mentioning The Hobbit literally just made my day. I love it, and I feel like a lot of people say it’s too hard to read (which understandably, it can be sometimes) and they just give up on it. But idk it just made me so happy that one of my all time favorite books was mentioned.

Just a bit of trivia- La Dame Aux Camellias is the basis for Verdi's opera La Traviata. Just discovered your channel and as a life long and much, much, much older reader I appreciate your choices and presentation. Now that I anm retired I an finally getting to the classics I always meant to read including re-reads of my two favourites, War and Peace and Anna Karenina.

have you read a little life? i heard it's heartbreaking and tough to get through due to the content matter. also, i have seen other booktubers (noelle gallagher, paperbackdreams and ellias talk and review it), but i am just wondering if you would ever consider reading it.

Hey Emma! I would like to recommend 'The Midnight Dress' by Karen Foxlee to you. It doesn't really fit into the spring category since it plays in tropical Queensland but i think you will really enjoy it bc it is such a magical story with beautiful and atmospheric writing! You should definitely look it up! And sorry for my english lol

Please do listen to the audiobook narrated by Andy Serkis. IT IS SO GOOD. The Gollum chapter where he does the same voice from the movies is pure perfection, it gave me goosebumps !!

I might recommend Elizabeth von Arnim's The Enchanted April. Four women at the beginning of the 20th century just decide to rent a villa in Italy and go there experience the blooming spring month. The author wrote the novel while enjoying a similar holiday so it's full of vitality and colour.

    Very underrated author.

The Lady of the Camélias is a beautiful book, heartbreaking really, but I think you mislead your viewers a little, the reason she wears camellias is because she's, well, an escort. And the colors of the camellias is actually meant to signify is she's free for the night or not. This is why she's vowed to never fall in love (along with a illness she has which also has a huge part in the book but I won't spoil you any more ahah), this also makes Armand's love for her so terrible, because he is relatively "poor" and cannot afford her "love" and yet he still tries to capture her heart and really I love this book and it has a lot of parts that are perfect for spring, but it's not this very light book you advertised 😉 Still beautiful, it has flowers, it has romance, but it has a big impact as well

I recommend How to Make an American Quilt by Whitney Otto; her writing is beautiful, and there's even a film adaptation starring Winona Ryder. Plus, Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, which is about two sisters that are witches, and there are strong themes of nature!

Anne of Green Gables is a BIG spring vibe for me!! It's well known but I read it every year!

    Super interesting vid.

Once you've read La Dame aux Camélias, I'd recommend watching Verdi's La Traviata, the opera inspired by the novel. (Preferably the Covent Garden version with a young Angela Gheorghui.)
