AAA James Bond July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Hey… I just found your channel today… Am not a book fan so i wanted to know a bit about book readers … Uhmm i have subscribed Darling awha_here_we_ go_again July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm should i leave? (my name is daisy) hahaha Molly Jane July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Okay so regarding Daisy (granted I’ve read this book more than I can count because I teach it). So a few thoughts or lenses you could dissect her character in. One thought is she is clearly in an abusive relationship and so she’s trapped in the cycle of abuse. Another way I like to look at it is that although she’s not happy with Tom she is a woman in the 1920s so her option if she were to leave him is minimal and she also wants a life of luxury so she sacrifices her happiness to have material things. There’s also a few more or a mix of the above. I could go on and on about this 😂 x tonib x July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm "The Woman In The Window" sounds exactly like Rear Window lmao what marc isaac potter July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I just got Jake G reading Great Gatsby. Thank You. CL Gov63 July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I've been reading some fun romances lately and didn't know if I'd enjoy them, but I did. Have you read The Hating Game yet? Tara Smith July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm OMG, I just love your passion for books!! There are two audio books I would like to recommend if you get time: (1) Blind by Jose Saramago and (2)The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. The audio is a better way to digest the book called Blind because of the nature and plot of the book. Anyhow, I hope you have a great week. I love your feedback on your recommendations. -Tara Alessandra Frances July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Yooooo getting to this late but the Normal People novel was trash but the show was SO good. You're teaching me to trust my instincts with what I think is good or bad. Halee Westbrook July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I have my first job interview (ever!) today and I’m binge watching your videos while I get ready…. cuz they genuinely make me feel better! Your videos always put me at peace ✌️❤️ Stephanie - virgoreader July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Oh man! I'm kinda bummed you called them cheesy little romances, but I get it because the genre doesn't get respect – in part because of the covers. But it's actually a fascinating history where women written romances (especially ones include sex) are looked down on as "not REAL writing" because… they're mass market, they're cheap, they can be bought in grocery stores, etc. If you want to branch out within the historical romance genre, a few suggestions I have:– The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne. This is a darker romance and contains violence, on page murder, discussion of past (prison) assault of minors. A woman who was childhood friends with a boy sent to prison is kidnapped by someone who knew him, saying she's in danger. – The Duke Who Didn't by Courtney Milan. This features a half-Chinese duke and a young Chinese woman in the Victorian era. It deals with systemic racism but is surprisingly sweet and lighthearted in both the romance (childhood sweethearts/friends) and family relationships.– The Rakess by Scarlett Peckham. Late Georgian era (1790's) that centers on a "fallen woman" who is writing her memoirs. Twist on the male rake trope. Tracy Ragland July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Completely understand what you mean about feeling shameful about reading those romance books but like u know what I don’t care I like it sue me 🤷♀️😂😌 Amber Moore July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I couldn’t get into “Normal People”. To me, the writing was terrible. Grammatical and sentence structure sucked. 21stefari July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm "Stephen King: Can you do wrong? Yes. Will I ignore it? Yes" hahahahaha, this is perfect. I agree with so much criticism of him and I don't care at all lol Laura Ribeiro July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I loved the last 4 minutes 😂😂 Michele Pastele July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Check out 'RUL LIBRARY' on U Tube. Rita Sauret July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm you should real L' étranger by Albert Camus, it's a classic and very quick to read Nm Bailey July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm YOUR EARRINGS FilleDeRoi July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm Thank you so much for showing that three romance books in the end. I love watching YouTube and it always looks like everyone is either reading young Adult or whatever books where it is totally fine that there is steam and love and cliche etc. Or the one that read books that are listed on shortlists and stuff. And I always feel bad when I read a classic like Hemingway or a really good thriller or drama and then love to lift the mood with the cheesiest airport grab I can find 😂 that was so good to see 🥰 love your videos 😉 Haley A July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm 2:24 never agreed with a statement more lol 😂😂 JoJo July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I loved the movie and thought it was better than the book. It’s my husband and my feel good movie. Whenever we need a pick me up, we put on Ready Player One. Aimee W July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm I bet you don’t rate the women in the window at a 4 star anymore Hella Lims July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm About Normal People – OH MY GOD, SOMEONE WHO THINKS LIKE MEEEEEEE Solmaz Sali July 14, 2021 at 3:15 pm ahh thank u for saying that normal people was not good, i also gave it a 2/5 and was so confused why people liked it. there was so much potential to explore different things about the characters but they just swept by it Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.
