I feel the same about needing breaks between large fantasy books. I love enemies to lovers too lol! There’s just so much you can do with that trope. Contemporary romance is not my usual, but you have some interesting ones here. I added a couple to my ever growing list. Thanks, Abby!

I know none of these books. Is this what it's like for Abby's dad to watch these videos? Lol. Well met seems very funny, and even though I haven't been to a Ren fair either, it gives me D&D vibes which is awesome. Happy Valentines day!

I am still exploring romance and have not read any contemporary but I have heard good things about You had me at Hola!

We have very similar tastes in romance, which is also not one of my favorite genres. All of my favorites are on your list. I finished the last book in The Simple Wild series which just came out and really loved it. I would also recommend The Girl He Used to Know by Tracy Garvis Graves. The protagonist in that one is on the spectrum, and it was more than “just a romance.” I wouldn’t read too many reviews first because they sometimes contain a spoiler for the story. Also, I tried a regency romance for the first time last year and was thoroughly impressed by how how fun and witty it was. The one I read was The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare. I thought it would just be OK, but I truly enjoyed it.

I've actually read Birthday Girl, which was a massive stretch for me. I do enjoy forbidden love and age differences tropes. Like you, I fear the author's other books might be too much for me. I've been wanting to read Well Met because I grew up loving renaissance fairs! I may get to that someday. Great video and perfect for Valentine's Day weekend!

Romance isn’t usually one I go for, but I do really want to read Beach Read. I’ve seen it mentioned a lot in the last year and every time someone brings it up, it piques my interest. I also kinda want to read the one where the guy and girl share the same apartment – sounds hilarious

These are some of my favorites too! The only two on your list I haven't read yet are On the Island and Birthday Girl. Age gap and taboo romances aren't really my thing, but maybe someday I will give them a try. Have you read The Kiss Quotient series by Helen Hoang or the Brown Sisters series by Talia Hibbert? Those are two other favorites of mine. I also liked The Unhoneymooners and Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, both by Christina Lauren, and Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting.
