Yesyesyes THANK YOU! 😁 I read Contagion after your mid year book freak out video and fell absolutely in love with it & the genre, and was kind of lost what to read next, so this video is GREATLY appreciated! ❤️

Just started the Heart's Prisoner yesterday – good to know that I choose correctly. 😁

All these sound wonderful! I would also recommend The Dragon Lords of Valdier series by S.E. Smith her books are really good and they always make me laugh out loud. And Dark Planet Warriors series by Anna Carven is also pretty good.

If you told me 6 months ago I'd be into alien romances I would've looked at you like you had 6 heads…BUT NOW I'M SO INTO IT. Thank you, quarantine. So my recommendation is Strange Love by Ann Aguirre. The hero is one of those "looks like an alien, acts like an alien" guys, but is a total cinnamon roll. There's a kind of Hunger Games meets The Bachelorette thing happening on his planet, and he competes with a human woman WHO HAS A TALKING DOG (cuz the hero gives the pup a translator, I mean COME ON). It's a fun time!

    Alien Romance — my favorite!

Saving Askara by J. M. Link — first of a 3-book series about what happens after first contact. Slow burn, then SIZZLING.

Homebound by Lydia Hope — Gemma works at a prison as a cleaner. When she is assigned to the alien ward, she meets Simon, who is damaged, starved, and wasting away in complete isolation. This is a FANTASTIC book. What a story arc it is!

Possessed by Tana Stone — first book in the Raiders of the Vandar series. From Goodreads: Hot Aliens in battle kilts with tails!

Also: Ruby Dixon's blue horned aliens with tails ALSO live on a farm planet (the Risdaverse series — lots of mail order bride action) and are galactic pirates (The Corsair's Captive, book 1 in the Corsairs series). I actually like these two series MORE than I love Ice Planet Barbarians.

Yesss I Married a Lizardman and Heart’s Prisoner are two of my fave alien romances! I’ve been enjoying alien romances for years, and I’m so happy more people are now giving them a try and understanding the appeal!

If you really want to commit to some beast-length novels that will suck you in and not let go, try either The Last Hour of Gann or Land of the Beautiful Dead by R Lee Smith. The first one is an epic sci-fi romance with a Lizardman type hero, but also it’s so much more than a romance, and a beautiful piece of fiction. It’s also one of the longest books I’ve ever read, but the slow burn journey is SO worth it. The second one I named is a dystopian horror type romance. It’s like beauty and the beast meets the walking dead but the hero is the king of death who controls all the zombie type creatures. Both heroes in these books are very inhumane looking (my personal fave). Don’t let the cheesy covers deter you, because the writing is some of the most captivating I’ve ever read.
