I like historical fiction a lot. The only one of those I’ve read is Memoirs of a Geisha. I read it a long time ago so I don’t remember a lot about it , other than I liked it.If you’re interested in picking up more historical fiction , may I recommend The Promise and The Glovemaker , both by Ann Weisgarber , ( the second one won a few awards ) , and Under a Dark Summer Sky by Vanessa Lafaye. ( based on a true event). There are others I thought were also terrific . Gillespie and I by Jane Harris , The Visitors by Sally Beauman , and Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier. ( the last 2 based on true events)I hope you enjoy all your new books . Happy Reading. Simply Laura Lee September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI loved What the Wind Knows too! Many hours of happy reading to come! 🙂 JulieG_Quebec - Jules se livre September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmOh Kristin Harmel is on my authors to discover list. The book of lost names and her last book are on hold at the public library. They must be popular because I’m far down in the line. 🤣 JulieG_Quebec - Jules se livre September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI DNF the first book in the series by Chanel Cleeton. Lady King119 September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmHope you enjoy your new genre, Historical fiction is one of my favorite genre's.a lot of them sound interesting, I read Memoirs of a Geisha a very good book Jewell Parker September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmThat is a super book haul! I love historical fiction, but I've limited myself to mostly WW II so I have a lot of expanding I could do in the genre. I have Annalies, Atomic Love, and Montauk if you'd like to buddy read one of them sometime. So many of your books sounded good; I'll probably be watching again to make a TBR list. The one that stood out to me was The Dress in the Window – loved the cover and it sounds good. I may have to see about getting that one. Also loved the covers of The Train to Key West and the Constable books. I have a friend who's reading the All Things series and loves them. Debbie Perleberg September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI have The Winter Sea on my TBR as well. When you feel ready to pick it up, I’d buddy read if you want to. Also, Memoirs of a Geisha I read 15 years ago. I’d buddy read that too when you are ready. Probably my favorite historical fiction books this year so far are Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon, Sparks Like Stars by Nadia Hashimi, This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger and The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. Historical Fiction is my favorite genre! C'est Kevvie September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI read a couple Agatha Christie historical fiction novels this year and they were both really good! Too Fond of Books September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmGreat haul! I love Susanna Kearsley and The Winter Sea is really good! Enjoy! I like the Nicholas Rhea series and those covers are great! G Wright September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmWow I like the sound of almost all the ones you mentioned! I’d like you to read the Grace Hitchcock one. I’ve added it to my TBR list and am curious. Debbie Murphy September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmHistorical fiction is my favorite genre and it looks like you have several good ones. Memoirs of a Geisha was very good (I read it years ago) and I LOVED Last Train from Key West. It was my first book by Chanel Cleeton and it was so good; I think you should read that one asap. WWII historical fiction is not a favorite era of mine. Linda Book Lady September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmInteresting books – I've read Memoirs of a Geisha… many long years ago. The ones that sounded intriguing to me was The Paragon Hotel & Mrs. Hemingway, can’t wait to hear what you think. 🙂 Kim’s Book Life September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI read Memoirs of A Geisha 21 years ago(son was a baby) and absolutely loved it. I plan a reread eventually. Star Gater September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmGood Morning. I love HF. Just finished The Women of Copper Country. Recommended by Book Tuber and published author (I add that as I was embarrassed not knowing she has five books. I read Memory's Hostage, and totally enjoyed it.) I'm working on getting away from WWII. I DNFd Annelies. I was troubled by sensationalizing Anne's death. It affected me badly. At around the same time I read Renia's Diary, and her family released her diary. It was so private. I look forward to your HF journey. Im going back through your vid and see what jumps out at me. Happy Good Reading. readjournallove September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmThis is a great haul. The Constable series sounds interesting. Atomic Love sounds really good. BooksAndJams September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI love Kristin Harmel, but never heard of that one. I am very interested. Memoirs of a Geisha is so good! I think Atomic Love and When We Meet Again sound right up my alley. Christine(BooksbytheQuote) September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmI love that you are always talking about books I have never seen before! Though not HF, I am reading/ listening to The Invisible Husband of Frick Island thanks to your recommendation and loving it! Jamie Coutu September 16, 2021 at 5:16 pmWelcome to the historical fiction club! 🙂I've never read Memoirs of a Geisha, though it's on the list that never shortens. Sigh. I'm also interested in The Winter Sea; again that list! I have multiple Kristin Harmel books, ask me if I've read any of them. I also have Atomic Love from BOTM, you need not ask if I've read it. I have the best of intentions, just not enough hours in the day to do all the things. 🙂Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.
